Evidence-based
mentoring with heart.
For brighter, more resilient futures.
What is Mentoring?
“Mentoring targeted support programmes pair up pupils with peers or trusted adults … equipping them with tools to identify and manage emotional difficulties, and supporting them to develop and achieve personal and academic goals.”
That’s not just hope—that’s what real research shows:
In my experience, even short-term mentoring (just 12 weekly one-to-one sessions) significantly boosted young people’s confidence, leadership, communication, decision-making and resilience—especially for those most at risk.
Mentoring is about consistent, trusted support. Unlike counselling, which is primarily about emotional exploration, or coaching, which focuses on goals, mentoring blends both: it’s practical, relational, and centred around what your child needs to feel confident and capable.
As a mentor and qualified therapeutic counsellor, I offer people the guidance, consistency and encouragement they need to grow. With over 12 years’ experience supporting children and young people, I understand the challenges families face and how important it is to have someone trusted by your child’s side.
Mentoring works - Young people with access to trusted adult support are more likely to stay in education, less likely to engage in risky behaviour, and report higher levels of confidence and wellbeing.
What mentoring is (and isn’t)
Mentoring is about consistent, relational support.
It isn’t the same as counselling or coaching:
Counselling helps a child explore their emotions.
Coaching is goal driven.
Mentoring blends both:
It’s relational, practical, and gives young people the encouragement, accountability and trust they need to grow.
Who I work with:
Parents looking for support for their child
Schools who want to offer students extra mentoring
Social workers supporting looked-after children
Find out how mentoring could help your child or young person:
“We brought Zainab in to support a Year 10 LAC student who was on the verge of dropping out. She not only kept her engaged but helped her apply for college. Her understanding of school pressures combined with her mentoring skills made all the difference.”
— SCHOOL LEADER
“Zainab has been instrumental in preventing multiple placement breakdowns. Her ability to build trust with the most complex young people is remarkable. I always know that when she is involved, the young person has someone safe and reliable to turn to.”
